I've always wanted to go to Michael's - a chi chi restaurant in Santa Monica. I've never gotten around to it, 1) just because I haven't and 2) it's kind of pricey (not terrifyingly so...just enough to make other things win over instead).
Today, I finally went there.
What finally prompted me: a promotion called "Dine Out Los Angeles," where for a limited time, participating restaurants offer price-fixed meals for $25 lunch and $35 dinner, and a donation goes to Share Our Strength, a hunger-relief organization.
The meal:
- chilled sweet corn soup with pistachios
- chicken with creamy polenta and haricots verts (yep, those'd be green beans)
- shortcake with berries, whipped cream and raspberry puree
Yummy...and one more thing checked off my list.
