Today, I received in the mail the Swedish edition of my novel, The Next Thing on My List (Nasta Sak Pa Min Lista in Swedish).
I wanted to do something to mark the occasion. After some brainstorming, I came up with the great idea of going to Ikea - land of Swedish meatballs and furniture named things like the Sven and the Slurrg.
So first I read a bit of my novel. The opening line: "Nasta sak pa listan: Kyssa en framling" - Next on my list: kiss a stranger.
Then I drove to Ikea, shopped around, bought a rug, frozen Swedish meatballs and Lingenberries to go.
Now I can't wait to get the Korean edition (which I'm thinking would be swell to ring in with Korean barbeque).
