I've gone to the L.A. Times Festival of Books in past years and have meandered about - every time wishing I'd had the foresight to get tickets to attend the author's panels.
This time I actually did, standing in a line at a nearby Ticketmaster outlet for two hours.
L.A. isn't usually a hotbed of literary activity - it wasn't until my novel was picked up as a movie that I got any sort of respect around these parts - so it'll be fun to bump elbows all day with people who share my interest in the written word.
