Life List Day 68 - Pirates! Orlando Ahoy!

This one falls under the category of "fun" in my list list: I have tickets for the 5:30 showing of Pirates of the Caribbean, featuring my man Orlando Bloom. I can't wait!

I'm going with a friend and our sons - Danny will refuse to sit near me because I have a habit of sighing a lot when Orlando comes on the screen.

In my defense, I don't usually go for the model-good-looks type. When I was married, my "List of 3" (that is, the men I was allowed to sleep with guilt-free if opportunity arose) was usually John Cusack, Gene Hackman and a pre-Monica Lewinski Bill Clinton.

When I first saw Orlando on screen in Lord of the Rings, I emitted this gutteral, completely involuntary sigh. (Unlike when I bypass Anderson Cooper as I'm flipping channels..that's more of an mmmmm...like maybe the difference between biting into chocolate vs. wanting chocolate to bite into you.) Anyway, I didn't know who Orlando Bloom was as an actor. Honestly, I just figured I had a thing for elves. I refused to google him for fear it might dilute his elfin magic.

But one day a trailor came on for Pirates of the Caribbean, and as a pirate swashbuckled across the screen, I had the same reaction. The lusty sigh again. Great, I groused. I'm turned on by elves and pirates. What's next. Feet?

As it turned out, that pirate was Orlando.

I wasn't a freak. Just an old lady with a girlish crush.

So tonight it's me, a friend, two teenaged boys, a big bucket of popcorn and a hot pirate. Life doesn't get much better than that.

Have Fun! I am going tomorrow night, luckily to the Bridge with assigned seating in the Directors Hall. It is going to be crazy crowded. Have fun oogling Orlando Bloom!

I clicked on your "thing for elves" link because I know you have one and I'm ever eager to learn what's up with that, and I was swept to an elf porn site!

Said it was for "figwit" fans, too, but I was afraid to click on that link for fear I would be drawn into the depths of your elfin depravity.

So why don't you just tell me what a figwit is, you dark angel of elfish obsession.

Thanks very much for the nice comment :) I will continue with my posting random things until I find something that I am able to write pages and pages about like you do! I like your blog and your journey doing and recording new things you do every day.

It's made me realise that in my own life even when though I'm still at ssixth form and people might say I've got my "whole life ahead of me", it's easy to fall into routine and not try anything new. I hope to change that!

I've added your blog to my RSS thing so I will check back on updates, and "The Next Thing on my List" looks like a very interesting read. Thanks!

We're waiting for the day when we can go back to a theater to watch a movie. Kind of tough to do so with a 5 year old and not anyone around that we'd trust to babysit. So we'll have to wait for it to come out on DVD.
